Welcome Post

This is an exciting post! Assuming I get to the end of it and finally publish. I have sat down to plan, organize and prioritize on so many occasions and blogging/updates has always made the wish list, and never the final cut. There has been so much growth and development in the classroom at Helping Raise Humanity and very little time to share what's new. One thing I am excited for is all of the many requests to know more. So, in an attempt to keep you all in the loop, let's start with where we're at. Currently, Helping Raise Humanity is a single classroom space with areas focused on dramatic play, sensory experiences, story telling, problem solving, engineering, reading, resting, eating, cooking and open-ended play. And while there are currently three students who attend daily, we still have not officially had open enrollment. If enrollment is something you're here to learn more about, please visit our Preschool and Care Requests page. There, you can submit a form to express your interest.

If you are here because you know my passion for early childhood education and just want to be along for the ride, then check back for updates. My goal will be weekly posts with the understanding that my time is limited and my attention prioritized on student needs and in-person classroom explorations. For example, I currently have five little chicks who have suddenly learned how to jump out of their box and need an upgraded space. There are two kittens in our shed whose mother has not returned all night and require attention. And we are in the planning/pre-developing stages of building an enclosed playground space to extend our classroom outdoors for days like yesterday, where we spent the majority of our time adventuring outside. With a gated space, we will be able to open that enrollment and invite more students to join for daily life exploration!

Now, to go pour my first cup of coffee for the day...
